About Us
Revelstoke Alpine Adventures is owned and operated by David Scott and Norman Winter.
Their experience spans the globe and covers a wide array of applications including international guiding, avalanche control for government and private industry, mechanised ski guiding, instruction for leading course providers and colleges, and industrial rigging and safety.
The enthusiasm they have for the mountains is evident in their approach to guiding. "At RAA we want to take guests to places they only dreamed of going. We like to make a real effort to get to know every individual and try and find some way to make their experience special and memorable. The mountains are a fantastic vehicle for people to discover themselves. Hiking, climbing, skiing and mountain pusuits are fulfilling in themselves but we believe the real magic is something more than that. The mountains and the sports they inspire are a way to discover the great things about ourselves and our surroundings."
Your safety and enjoyment are our highest priority and we continue to build upon our reputation of friendly, professional and reliable service. All of our climbing, skiing and hiking guides are certified by the ACMG and operate within the terrain guidelines of the association. Our alpine and ski guides are highly trained in guiding techniques, rescue techniques and advanced wilderness first aid.
Our guides are passionate about what they do and the incredible mountain areas in which they get to work. They are always willing to share their knowledge with you, whether it be the nuances of the mountain snowpack or local natural history. You will find our guides to be professional, personable and FUN to spend time with. There are no huge egos here, just great mountain companions who love introducing people to the joys of mountain travel.

After over 2 decades of guiding either alpine, rock or ice climbing in Canada, the US, New Zealand and the European Alps, Norm decided it was time to hang out his own shingle.....with his old pal Dave.
Norm and his son Leif make Revelstoke their home.
Dave has been skiing and climbing since he was in his teens. He was 13 years old when he and a friend made there first foray into the mountains near Banff AB. His passion for the high places has been burning ever since. Dave is happiest on his skis or tied into a rope in the montains. Dave is a certified Mountain Guide (ACMG-IFMGA) and has lived and ski guided in the Columbia Mountains since 1990. He is a professional member of the Canadian Avalanche Association. He has guided for Canadian Mountain Holidays, Selkirk Tangiers Heliskiing, Yamnuska Mountain School and as a private ski touring guide. He has worked as an alpine and rock climbing guide throughout western Canada, Bolivia and in the St. Elias Range. After many
years of following his passion he chose to go at it alone, with his buddy Norm.
Dave lives in Revelstoke with his wife Julie and their daughters Rebecca and Mia.
