Rogers Pass / Glacier National Park Lodge Guided Ski Touring Packages

Come and join our professional and certified local guides for multi day ski touring packages based out of the Glacier Park Lodge at Rogers Pass in Glacier National Park.

The Rogers Pass area is legendary in backcountry skiing circles for consistantly good powder snow and amazing terrain for both tree and alpine skiing.

The Glacier Park Lodge offers warm comfortable rooms and many amazing tours start right from the back door.

Sol Mountain Lodge AST 2

Come and join Revelstoke Alpine Adventures for our lodge based Avalanche Skills Training Level 2 course held at Sol Mountain Lodge in the Monashee Mountains near Revelstoke.

Sol Mountain Lodge is known for comfort and warmth with great food and spectacular ski terrain. This AST 2 course provides great value with the helicopter flight to and from the lodge, all meals, accommodation, instruction and course matierials included in the price.

Hosting an AST 2 at a backcountry lodge situated at treeline allows us to get out into the terrain easily which will allow youSol Mountain Lodge to make the best use of your time and actually get more turns and learning opportunities out of the course. This course is run over 3.5 days. At Sol Mountain there are beautiful runs literally right out the front door!

This Level Two Avalanche Skills Training course follows the curriculum developed by the Canadian Avalanche Centre and will provide an intermediate level descision making framework.

Course Objectives

At the end of the course the students should be able to:

  • be familiar with Avalanche danger ratings verification techniques for personal use on a local scale
  • be familiar with the ATES technical model as a means to develop personal local terrain ratings
  • use routefinding to take advantage of nuances in terrain to manage personal risk
  • use travel techniques in avalanche terrainappropriate to avalanche conditions
  • proficiently carry out a companion rescue
  • understand the limits of their training

Skill Level and Prerequisites

Participants should have taken an AST 1 or RAC course previously and have several seasons of backcountry skiing or boarding experience. Boarders must have a split board touring set up ( no snowshoes) Participants must have intermediate skiing or boarding skills

Included

Helicopter flight to and from the lodge, all meals and accommodation, AST 2 instruction and course materials.

Not Included

Transportation to and from the staging area, personal backcountry gear and safety equipment, alcoholic drinks
