Rock Climbing Courses
Revelstoke Alpine Adventures offers rock climbing courses for all ages and abilities. Whether an individual, family, group of friends, corporate group, school or club you are bound to find a course to meet your needs.
The local rock climbing venues near Revelstoke are world class with short approaches, solid rock and routes for all levels of fitness and experience.
Revelstoke Alpine Adventures is owned and operated by mountain guides with over 40 years of cumulative experience teaching and guiding in the worlds mountain ranges. We are pleased to show you our home range and explore new heights with our students.
All instructors are certified through the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides, your guarantee of a world class standard and accreditation.

Half Day Rockclimbing
This is a sampler for those that have never tried climbing. The focus is to get out and climb! You will be introduced to safe belaying technique and basic movement skills. This is a good way to sample climbing if you are unsure of taking the Basic Rock Course.

$70.00 / person minimum of 4 participants

This is great for individuals, families, corporate groups or smaller groups. You can get more one on one time with the instructor and choose your dates. The instructor can tailor the day to suit your needs.
1 person $225.00 + GST

If a lower guest to instructor ratio is required we will make a custom quote for you.

Equipment List for Basic Rock Intro
- Backpack - 35 to 45 litre, enough to hold your gear plus some climbing gear
- Rain jacket - Gore-Tex or similar
- Pants - suitable for climbing
- Warm clothing- fleece jacket
- Sunglasses
- Hiking/approach shoes – sandals are not good.
- Sunscreen
- 1st aid - limited to a blister kit, medications, etc.
- Misc. personal items - camera
- water bottles - 1 litre
- lunch and snacks

- Climbing harness
- Helmet

Intro to Rockclimbing
This is an intensive one day course with the focus being to get you the basic top rope climbing skills. You will be introduced to safe belay systems, rappelling, anchor principles, rope management technique and movement skills. This is a fun way to establish some basic skills.

$140.00 / person, minimum of 4 participants

This is great for indivduals, families, corporate groups or smaller groups. You can get more one on one time with the instructor and choose your dates. The instructor can tailor the day to suit your needs.

In an effort to keep course costs down participants will be responsible for providing their own transportation. We will encourage participants to car pool whenever possible.

Basic Rockcraft
This 2 day course is a good foundation for learning the sport of rock climbing. You will be introduced to safe belay systems, rappelling, anchor principles, rope management technique and movement skills and have enough time to practice the various techniques and concepts introduced. This course is a must for anyone getting into the sport of rock climbing.

Sport Rock
In this two day course you learn to sport climb on real stone. Some of the topics you’ll cover are: lead climbing principles and belaying, anchor construction, rappelling, route selection and hazard identification. This course is ideal for those that have taken the Basic Rock Craft course. Take the sharp end of the rope and start leading!

Trad Rock
Traditional rock climbing has its own set of unique challenges and gives the climber a new sense of freedom. Whether you are interested in taking your sport climbing into the trad realm or are interested in heading into the alpine this course is the ticket.
Learn about the intricacies of the types of gear and how to place it and remove it. In addition you’ll learn how to place gear on lead, safety considerations when leading, belaying for trad climbing and route finding. An introduction to self rescue principles rounds out this course.
